Polarfeldindex: P/aequatorialen Pollenkorndurchmesser. Klein < 0.25; Mittelgross 0.25 - 0.5; Gross >0.5 - 0.74; Sehr gross > 0.75. 
Ölige, klebrige Tropfen aus Lipoiden und Carotinoiden. "Klebt" die Pollenkörner an den Bestäuber. Pollenkitt wird nur von den Angiospermen gebildet, kann jedoch auch fehlen. Wird in den Plastiden der Antherenwand gebildet.
