Stäbchenförmige, zugespitzte Skulptur der Exine. Länger als 1 μm.
Polarfeldindex: Polarer Pollenkorndurchmesser dividiert durch den aequatorialen Pollenkorndurchmesser (auch P/E-Ratio). Klein < 0.25; Mittelgross 0.25 - 0.5; Gross >0.5 - 0.74; Sehr gross > 0.75. 
Ölige, klebrige Tropfen aus Lipoiden und Carotinoiden. "Klebt" die Pollenkörner an den Bestäuber und dient auch als Schutz gegen das Austrocknen. Pollenkitt wird nur von den Angiospermen gebildet, kann jedoch auch fehlen. Wird in den Plastiden der Antherenwand gebildet.
