Pollen: Rund, sphäroid, heteropolar, monoaperturat (im LM ist die Papille meist nicht gut sichtbar und das PK erscheint inaperturat), baculat bis echinat, teilweise verrucat. Dicke Intine und dünne Exine, die teilweise aufgerissen ist. Das PK ist mit einer Papille versehen. Darunter befindet sich eine Verdünnung der Pollenwand, die Keimöffnung (Leptoma), an der die Pollenwand bei der Acetolyse auch meist aufreisst. Im Innern des PK finden sich viele Amyloplasten. Diese haben einen Durchmesser von etwa 5 (2.6-7.2) μm. Die mit Acetocarmin gefärbten PK zeigen eine netzartige Struktur im Zytoplasma und man erkennt Kernmaterial (2-3 Kerne): die beiden Spermazellen (bicellular pollen) und auch den vegetativen Kern. Die acetolysierten PK sind rund bis polygonal, schiffchenförmig.
